William Hicks Wyatt (Bill) passed away peacefully at his home on February 24, 2022. He was surrounded by his devoted wife and daughter.
Bill was born on February 24, 1945 in Durham, N.C. He attended Durham Schools and graduated in 1963.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He earned the rank of Sargent with the 377th SPS. Sargent William Wyatt attended Training at Lockland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was trained as a Military Police Sentry Dog Handler. He was deployed to South Vietnam. Sargent Wyatt shared his duty with two K9 German Shepherds, Moose and ACE. Bill completed service and returned to North Carolina.
He attended Western Carolina University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.
William moved to Montana and was employed by the U.S Forest Service until he retired in 1997.
Bill 's next adventure was to earned a degree, together with his daughter, at the University of Montana in 2001.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed sharing his skills and experiences with others. Bill also was a supporter and competitor of the U.S. Summer Biathlon.
Bill was preceeded in death by: his father, Robert Harris Wyatt, mother, Susan Hicks Wyatt, brother, Robert Harris Wyatt Jr. (Bobby), and son, William Hicks Wyatt Jr.
Bill is survived by his wife of 23 years Marlene Wyatt, daughter, Elizabeth JoMay Wyatt and former wife, Janet Hamilton.
The celebration of life for Bill Wyatt will take place at Western Montana Veterans Cemetery at a date to be announced.
