William Roy Holden Sr

William Roy Holden Sr. passed away Oct. 30, 2013 at the Community Medical Center at the age of 78. Born on Oct. 4, 1935 in Stevensville, MT he was the first of three children born to William W. Holden and Ida A. Manning. He attended Willard grade school and the Missoula County High School. Bill was a 5th generation logger and also served seven years in the Army reserves.
In 1961 he married Vera Hamar Richardson, who survives him, along with children; William R. Holden, JR., of Missoula, Bradley D. (Leslie) Holden, of Canby, Or, Bobbie (Bonnie) Shepard, Frenchtown, Lonnie (Don) McKay, of Polson, Loris "Shine" (Ross) Richardson, of Evaro, grandchildren; Nakia, Lander, Shane, Shawn, Benjamin, Austin, and Juleah.
He was blessed to have a large loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
His family wishes to extend a sincere Thank You to our family of caregivers and residents at the Village Healthcare Facility, also, the Doctors and Nurses at Community Medical Center, Hospice, and St. Patrick's Hospital.
He enjoyed country music, dancing, camping, and most of all his dog, nippy. Bill, A.K.A. "Wild Bill", "Sheriff Bill", "Logger Bill", "Wild Willie", and "Daddy", was never at a loss for words, "Ain't that somethin'"
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 Pm, Friday, Nov. 29th, 2013 at the Orchard Homes Country Life Club. Sunset Memorial Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
