Obituary for William Lucier

On the early morning of February 15th, dad finished the final leg of his race. He ran that race with courage, for he knew the prize ahead; eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who, beside him through the race, encouraged him to finish strong, and finish strong, he did. What a celebration Heaven must be having for him!
Dad was born on February 23, 1940 in Missoula, Montana. He was raised on the family ranch in Frenchtown and remained there his entire life. He also went to school in Frenchtown, where this young handsome man, who excelled at sports, captivated the heart of a young lady named Vivian Rose, a girl he would marry and spend his life with. Mom and dad were married on June 23, 1958 at St. John The Baptist Catholic church in Frenchtown and raised their four children there. Dad was our biggest supporter, following us wherever our school and sports activities would take us. After that, dad began following the Superior Bobcats where Danny was coach. Mom and dad missed very few games, always there to be an encouragement to their eldest son's teams. As his grandchildren participated in sports, grandpa was there at the games to cheer each kid onto victory. Nothing meant more to dad than his family. His family consists of four children: Danny (Tori) children April (Nik) Zade, Lakyn, and Tyson. Bryan (Maria), Shane (Shiloh) children Brittney (Travis) Kylie, Will (Katrina), Nicole (Eric) Natalee, Damen, Joshua and Ethan. Michaele (Bill) children Jasmine, Levi, Elijah , Colter and Gianna. Dad had a close relationship with his siblings Bonnie Halder, Lindy (Bob) Cummings, (Bob, was like a brother to dad), Stan (Marge) Lucier and a special closeness with his nieces and nephews.
Ranching and farming were dad's way of life, he took great pride in his farm and his community. He served on many farming and ranching boards in the Grass Valley, as well as the Frenchtown school board for many years. Dad was a fair, honest man whose word and integrity meant everything. Dad was black and white and you never had to guess where you stood with him. He believed in simplicity, never making things out to be more than they were. The 4b's crossroads group will be missing a key player without dad. He was a main stay there for many years, enjoying his early morning friends and Brenda, his favorite waitress. Dad had many friends throughout his life and he was a true, loyal man, one of a kind.
The last week of his life, dad became ill and his family was able to be with him the entire time. Being with him was a blessing and a gift that we will cherish all the days of our lives. Dad accepted Jesus into his heart days before he went to his heavenly home and hour upon hour was spent talking about his Savior, whom he planned on giving a BIG hug to when they met. Dad said he wanted it known that he was a man who feared the Lord. He was fervent for Jesus to release his Spirit from his tired body and take him home. 2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come. We thank the Lord for giving us the time we got to spend with our dad who truly did become a new creation.
Dad had beautiful blue eyes that will now be used to help another have sight. You were the best parent we could have ever hoped for. We love you Dad and will see you soon!!!
