William “BJ” George Joseph Lefler, went to be with our Lord on May 8th, 2018 at age 66 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana with family at his bedside.
BJ was born on July 28th, 1951 to William and Joan [Mildenberger] Lefler, who preceded him in death. He graduated Hellgate High School in 1969, then attended the University of Montana. He and Patti [Anderson] Lefler married on June 5th, 1976. He was blessed with three children and two grandchildren, the highlights of his life. BJ was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. His happiest days were spent coaching his children in their sports, on a horseback trip on Cache Creek Trail, or working his ranch with his buddies in Frenchtown, MT. BJ was a great competitor, with a huge heart for the underdog. He was willing to take on nearly any challenge set in front of him, and always wanted his closest friends and family along for the ride. No matter where his journey led, BJ’s faith in God was the compass he worked hardest to follow.
He will be forever rememberd by his three children, Douglas Lefler, Jesse Lefler, and Christina Lefler, and two grandchildren Darren DeCoite and Avory DeCoite, his two brothers, Dave [Kim] Lefler and Rob [Toni] Lefler, and two sisters, Sandi [Richard] Shepard and Mary [Russ] Lodge.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, followed by a celebration of his life at Christ the King Church, 1400 Gerald Ave, Missoula, MT on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences can be left for the family at www.gardencityfh.com.
