Warren Dale Haigh, 84, of Charlo, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Community Medical Center in Missoula. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at gardencityfh.com.
Warren Dale Haigh, son of Harold and Evelyn (Frankenstein) Haigh, was born October 4, 1939 in Doland, South Dakota. He graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1957. After graduation Warren joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. After his service, Warren continued his education obtaining a degree in education from Huron College. He also took classes at Northern State University and lastly obtained his master’s in education from the University of South Dakota. Warren married Marjorie Gustafson in 1965 and four children were born to this union. The couple later separated in 1996. Warren met Dianna at church and the couple was united in marriage on September 4, 1999 in Missoula.
Warren taught all over South Dakota in his early years, teaching at Lake Preston, Watertown and finally settled in Yankton South Dakota in 1969. Warren moved to Montana in 1989 teaching at Harlowton and later at Kicking Horse Job Corp. He was a member of the American Legion and was proud of his service. Warren enjoyed a farm life staying busy gardening and tending to his variety of animals. He loved tinkering on tractors, cars and especially motorcycles. He was known as the motorcycle guy in Yankton. Warren cherished the outdoors and was often found fishing, hunting, hiking and camping in South Dakota and Montana. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianna Haigh of Charlo, MT; daughters, Elizabeth (Lyle) Petrick of La Salle, MN; Emelie Haigh Volga, SD; Rebecca (Rob) Eul of Morris, MN; step-son, Jeffery Seitzinger of Deer Lodge, MT; three grandchildren; brothers, Edwin (Ellen Kay) Haigh of Hitchcock, SD; Harold (Donna) Haigh of Hitchcock, SD; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Evelyn; sister, Evelyn (in infancy), and son, S. James Haigh.
