Ward (Pard) D. Hansen, 91, of Missoula passed away of natural causes April 13, 2014 at his home.
Ward was born May 11, 1922 in Lowell Nebraska to Walter and Matilda (Golle) Hansen. He was a Navy veteran and served in World War II. Ward married Annabel Pyle; April 19 would have been the couple's 67th wedding anniversary. He worked as a conductor for the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railway in Helena, Missoula, and Whitefish. Ward enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Annabel; children, Patricia H. Bradstreet of Missoula, John D. (Eva) Hansen of Virginia, and Dr. Jeanne H. Williams (Dick) of Plains; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; Sister Doris Logan of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Matilda; brothers Harold (Casey) Hansen of Yreka, California and Howard (Pete) Hansen of Minden Nebraska.
The family wishes to send a special thank-you to Partners In Home Care Hospice.
In lieu of services there will be a wake at the family home Thursday April 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. All friends and coworkers are welcome. Ward's remains will be placed at the Western Montana State Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice in Ward Hansen's name.
