STEVENSVILLE – Vivian Louise Johnson, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. She resided at The Living Center in Stevensville the past six years.
Vivian was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada, on May 23, 1925, to Edward and Maud Allan. She married Arnold Clarence Johnson, her husband of 55 years, on April 12, 1943, in International Falls, Minn.
They moved to North Dakota after World War II, living in Dickinson and Bismarck until 1966 when they moved to Missoula. Vivian began working for the University of Montana Residence Halls in 1968, retiring in 1987.
Vivian enjoyed watching Griz and Lady Griz basketball games with her husband, meeting with her friends and volunteering at Christian Life Center. An important part of her life was her children, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1998; a grandson, Brent; her parents and five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her sister, Joan Huether; two sons, Ronnie (Bonnie) Johnson and Jim/Sonny (Laurie) Johnson and seven daughters, Sharon (Al) Dahmus, Judy Johnson, Sandy (Carl) Hill, Jackie (David) Hotvedt, Penny (Gail) Craig, Pam (Jay) Haynes and Shonah (Daniel) Graetzer, and her 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 W. Broadway, Missoula. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Christian Life Center, 3801 Russell St. Missoula. Memorials may be made to Christian Life Center.
