My love came into this world Jan. 28, 1956, born in Harlowton. Her folks lived in White Sulphur Springs at that time. Her parents had to drive through typical a late January middle-of-Montana blizzard to get to the hospital about 60 miles from home.
Her father worked road construction and the family moved around quite a bit, but Ginny spent most of her childhood in Anaconda. She attended high school in Missoula and graduated from Drummond High School.
We met in Drummond the summer of 1978 and were married atop Dunkleburg Ridge on Aug. 20, 1978. We had two wonderful boys, Jory Lee and Ernest Eugene. Ginny stuck by me through terrible times and good times for 35 years. She was a mom to all our boys' friends; there was always a house full of kids.
She had to leave us too soon, only 57 years old, after a short but terrible struggle with cancer; she passed on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at her home, with familly.
Her faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ always strengthened and comforted her; I'm sure he is comforting her now.
Ginny was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Eugene Van Horn; son, Jory Lee Van Horn; mother, Helen W. Brady; stepmother, Mickey Van Horn; and too many other loved ones to list.
She is survivied by her son, Ernest Eugene Powell, his girlfriend Gillian Allen and her little boy Jack; her loving sister, Judy Gudgel; nieces, Kerrigan (Shane) O'Connell and little boy Brennan, and Jessica (Phil) Killbreath; granddaughter, Cristal Walker; extended stepfamily, Peggy (Ed) Skinner, Valorie (Gary) Mourich and Steve Schultz; and lots of loving friends.
And me, her husband, Ray Powell. "We will all love you forever, little red-haired girl."
A memorial service will be held at the Drummond Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m
