Vickie, age 70, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday, October 30, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a long battle of illnesses.
She was born May 26, 1951, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to her late beloved mother Dorothy “Winans” Boso and James Boso.
Vickie moved to Missoula, Montana with her family to begin their new chapter in 1960. After attending local schools, she then resided in Germany for a while before moving to South Carolina as a young adult. There she worked for the Bankers Association until she decided to return home to be with family in Missoula. In Missoula she worked for the City Engineering Department through 1985, when her life’s dream of becoming a mother came true with the birth of her son and granted again in 1991 with her daughter. She devoted the rest of her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She married Carl Daniel Murphy on September 11, 1982, at Missoula First United Methodist Church. They resided in Missoula where they raised their two children.
Vickie is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Crouser. Now survived by her husband Carl; son Joshua, wife Ashley; daughter Jourdan; grandchildren Hailey and Lucas. Siblings Sharon Watson, husband Chuck Crew; Guy Boso; Debbie Smith, and husband Kit; Cindy MacAndrew; Alan Crouser; nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Throughout Vickie’s life she enjoyed the outdoors, camping, gardening, spontaneous family drives, love for the Oregon Coast and all its beauty where she enjoyed the annual kite festival and seagulls. Her passion for decorating and creativity turned her house into a home. When she was well, she enjoyed women’s bible studies and sharing the word of God.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday November 5, 2021, with drink refreshments to follow at Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 West Broadway Missoula 59808.
We would like to thank Home Health and Hospice of Montana for their love and compassion during Vickie’s end of life care.
