(0) CommentsDIXONâ�,��**– Vernon Posio, 74, of Dixon, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, in Ronan at St. Luke Hospital.
He was born Jan. 4, 1939, in Chatham, Mich., to Henry and Vivian Posio. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army Airborne. After his honorable discharge, he was a police officer for 17 years in Michigan and Idaho. During this time, he married the love of his life, Donna June Davis, of Ispeming, Mich. Out of this union of 46 years, they had two sons, Timothy Carl Posio and Terry Paul Posio.
In 1986, they moved to Alberton, where he started his career with the Montana Highway Department. During this time, he worked for numerous construction companies around the area. He resided in Dixon at the time of his death.
Vern enjoyed singing along with his old-time music, fishing and, especially, hunting with his boys. He also was very proud of his Finnish ancestry. He was a hard worker and a man with a big heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Donna June Posio; father, Henry Posio; mother, Alice Posio; brothers, Henry Ronald Posio, Joseph Edward Posio and Leonard Paul Posio; and sister, Mary Alice Posio.
Vern is survived by his brother, Richard Posio; sons, Timothy Posio and Terry Posio; daughters-in-law, Teresa Posio and Liz Posio; and grandchildren, Justin Posio, Cody L. Posio, Cody A. Posio, Ameen Posio and Rachel Posio.
Cremation is under the care of Garden City Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at missoulafuneralhomes.com.
