Vera May Holden, born March 18, 1935 in Valentine, Nebraska, passed away May 1st, 2022 at the age of 87, in Missoula, Montana.
She was the first-born child of Florence M. Rhoades and Oliver “Bud” Hamar.
She loved all family, friends, animals, country music, and dancing. She would share her memories of life on the Washington coast and early years in Valentine, Nebraska.
Vera is survived by her children: Bob Shepherd (Bonnie) of Missoula, MT, Lonnie McKay (Don) of Missoula, MT, Brad Holden (Leslie) of Canby, OR. Eight grandchildren and five great - grandchildren. Sisters: Vinell Pederson (Dale) of Valentine, NE, Regina Roberts (Cecil) of Vancouver, WA, Sharon Bonge, of Vancouver WA, Judy Wright (Mitch) of Crawford, NE, Rhonda Smallwood of Valentine, NE and brother Ted Hamar of Chadron, NE. She is also survived by her dearest friend Tom Stockstill of Missoula, MT.
Preceding her in death were her husband William Holden; sons Bill Holden Jr. and Lynn Brian Richardson; daughter Lois Richardson; Brothers: Dwight Hamar, Don Bonge, Dennis Bonge, Dan Bonge and Charles Hamar.
