Obituary for Vance Pauley

Vance William Pauley died August 8, 2016. Vance was a loving husband and father, son, brother, and friend. A member of IBEW768, third-year apprentice Vance was employed by P.E.T.E.S. in Missoula. He was born December 13, 1989, in Dillon, Montana, the son of Sandy Okken and Ben Pauley. He attended grade school in Lolo and Big Sky High School in Missoula.

In 2014 he married Virginia Rose Neff, and together they had a son, William James. Vance and Rose are expecting a second son, to be named Abraham Odin V., who is due in a few weeks.

Vance’s interests included football, gaming, and the outdoors. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he was described by those who knew him as epic, happy, and full of life. His prized experiences were with his family—walks, yardwork, and projects with his father-in-law, Bill Neff, who encouraged his career as an electrician.

Sadly, with reluctance, we say goodbye for now to a gentle giant who touched our lives. Vance is survived by his wife Rose; son William; unborn son Abraham; mother, Sandy Okken; stepfather Todd Okken; brother Trevor Dicky; grandmother Marilyn Shehorn of Dillon; father Ben Pauley; aunt Debbie Bellis of Dillon; and uncles Will Pauley of Deer Lodge and Joe Pauley of Dillon.

Vance was an organ donor and was able to help six recipients. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date. Donations to Vance’s children can be made through gofundme.com (search for Vance Pauley). Condolences for the family may be left at Garden City Funeral Home (gardencityfh.com).

High-five Jesus for us, bud.
