Van Neilson

- Van Neilson, 58, of Missoula, passed away on Tuesday July 30th in his home of natural causes. He was born May 13, 1955 in Libby Montana to L and Stella Neilson. As a young man he grew up with his family in a small home in Libby and was educated in Libby public schools. While in High school, He was a member of the high school football and wrestling teams.
On February 24, 1989, he married Debra Albert in Missoula where Van worked for the family business L M Neilson and Sons as a private contractor with his Father, L M Neilson and his brother, Steve Neilson.
He was a member of the Missoula Hell gate Lodge No. 383 order of Elks. He was also a member of the Model A club with his father L. During his free time Van enjoyed hiking, hunting, and fishing. He truly loved being in the outdoors and riding his Harley motorcycle on road trips.
He was a true believer in his family and took great care in friends and colleagues. He was a wonderful husband, father and loyal friend. We love you, we miss you Superman.
Survivors include his wife, Debra, Missoula; two daughters, Loni Neilson, and Nicole Lugibihl, Missoula; two sons Drew Neilson, Denver CO, and Nolan Neilson, Missoula; two Grand children Madisyn and Kole Lugibihl, Missoula; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 PM August 10th Saturday afternoon at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 7405 Mullan Road. The burial will follow also at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be to Hospice of Missoula 800 Kensington Ave. Suite 204 Missoula, MT 59801.
