After a valiant two-year battle with breast cancer, Valerie Sue Waters (Middlemas) died surrounded by her family on November 3, 2015 in Missoula, Montana.
Valerie was born on 12 January, 1961 in Dillon, Montana to loving parents David and Nancy Middlemas. She grew up in a large, loving family, and was devoted to her dear brothers and sisters.
Valerie was a loving, nurturing mother—the defining role of her lifetime. She was quick to share her love and motherly caring with all those in need, and with those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
As the kind, caring, and soulful woman Valerie was, she was adored by all. As was so often apparent by her words and actions, she truly cherished her friendships and her family. Those that knew her knew a funny, intelligent friend, philosophical at times, idealistic, a true dreamer, and sometimes a self-described "goofball." As such, Valerie will be sorely missed.
Her father, David W. Middlemas, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her mother Nancy Dodd (Robert Dischner), her children and grandchildren Mary Watts (Abigayle, Haylee, Aydan), David Milsten (Tonya, David, Chloe, Makayla, Tayla), Jennifer Conley (Jason, Ava), Sara Engebretson, Cody Waters, Travis Engebretson (Jamie), and Brittnay Waters (Jayden.)
She also leaves behind brothers and sisters: Vicki Jette (Ryan and Marrisa), Wesley Middlemas (Chandler), Jeff Middlemas (Susan, Miranda, Sara, Jeffery), Stephenie Birgenheier (Rich, Mason, Colby, Taylor), Robert Middlemas (Tracey), Tyler Middlemas (Jeanna, Myles, Mallory, Mitchell), John Ross Middlemas (Christine), and Charity Krebs (Jason, Hogan.)
Valerie also leaves in trusted hands her beloved dogs Smokey and Ashley.
The family would like to tearfully thank Nancy, Cindy, Mary, Amber, Navelle, and Kristen of Hospice of Missoula for the compassionate, attentive, and tender care they provided to Valerie. This will not be forgotten.
Memorial services will be held November 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3201 Bancroft St, Missoula, MT 59801.
A reception will follow and all those who loved Valerie are invited to attend.
Flowers, cards, and other memorial items can be sent to Sunset Funeral Home, 7405 Mullan Rd, Missoula, MT 59808. Condolences for Valerie's family may also be left at www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
