Valene M Tucker

Valene was born and raised in Hiawatha, Utah, graduating from high school in Price, Utah in the class of 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Culwell and they moved to California, and had one child, a daughter named Pamela (Santa Fe, New Mexico). Their marriage lasted two years at which time, Valene moved to Kemmerer, Wyoming and joined the US Forest Service on the Bridger National Forest. She rose up the ranks quickly and soon became Forest Resource Clerk. In 1966 she was promoted to a position in the Regional US Forest Service Office in Ogden, Utah, and there served as a member of the accounting division. She then met Gary Tucker, her current husband and they have been very successfully married for just short of 50 years before her death. When they married she became step-mother to Gary’s four children, Peter (Missoula, Montana, Kim (Ann Arbor, Michigan), Krisalee (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Michael (Round Rock, Texas). In July, 2014, Gary and Valene sold their winter home in Arizona and summer home at Canyon River in Missoula and moved into the Springs Senior Living Retirement Community in Missoula. They found living at the Springs very pleasant and have remained living there ever since. Valene was an extremely alert, bright and pleasant person to be around and was enjoyed by everyone. She will be sorely missed by her husband, family and friends who all know that she is in a better place now after having suffered for several years with the dreaded disease of Alzheimer’s. She was a tremendous supporter for all animal and children organizations. She was also a faithful follower of the Griz. Her Lord and Savior was the inspiration of her life and she now rests in peace in God’s heaven. Donations in her name may be made to the Missoula Humane Society or Watson’s Children Shelter.
