Tim was born in Glendive, MT on January 22, 1945 to Donald F. and Minnie (Winchel) Hubbard.
When Tim was young he enjoyed serving mass every morning and reading his bible to his Grandma Winchel at breakfast. He loved to play baseball and was one heck of a catcher. He said his team never won a game but their sponsor, Dairy Queen, still treated them with a milkshake after the game. Tim also loved being a boy scout and camping at Mocha Sica Park in Glendive, MT. While there he enjoyed eating tomato soup in a can and making s'mores. The family moved to Missoula in 1958 where they purchased the Big Chief Motel. In 1967 Don and Minnie remodeled the hotel and changed the name to the Trade Winds Motel. Tim worked as pool maintenance, desk clerk and all-around handyman. He graduated from Loyola High School, then graduated from the University of Montana with a Business Degree in Accounting and a minor in sociology. After seven years of courtship he married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Hagestad, a Missoula native. Together they raised four sons, Timothy Donald, Todd Andrew, Toby Francis, and Tracy Oliver. After graduating from University of Montana he went to work for New York Life Insurance, but his true passion was the car business. Tim got his start in the automotive business by repossessing cars for H.O. Bell Ford. He found he loved it so much he bought his own dealership, University Motors, which he was known for and recently retired from. Tim had many accomplishments throughout his life such as being captain of his ROTC program at the University of Montana, being President of Missoula Jaycees, President and an active coach of Mount Sentinel Little League baseball, President of Montana Auto Dealers, Chairman of the Excellence Fund for the University of Montana Foundation, Missoula City Council Alderman Ward 5, served on the executive board for St. Patrick's Hospital, Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Catholic Diocese of Montana with Bishop Thomas in Helena. Tim was also on the board of directors for the Missoula Country Club, advisory board for Honda Motor Company, and President of the Montana Honda Dealers Ad Association. He was very active in the community and coached ladies' softball, coached little grizzly football, the YMCA Youth basketball, and YMCA soccer programs. He also served as chairman of the Punt, Pass and Kick Program, and was captain of his golf team. Tim believed in the Missoula Community and sponsored the baseball league for disabled children, Watkins Children's Center, the Mountain Home Women's Shelter, Opportunity Resources, Inc. Tim and Rosemary also donated turkeys to the church feeding families program on Thanksgiving and Christmas. They were also proud to support the Missoula Children's Theatre, as well as many many other organizations. Tim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosemary Hubbard, his four sons, Tim and wife Shauna (Taylyn, Tyson, Kiersten), Todd and wife Janice (Owen and Will, Emily, Amanda), Toby (Hunter, Hayden), Tracy (Jack, Sam, Ben), his brother Donald and wife Sharon, Dona Mae Venn and husband Robert Venn, Sandy and husband Joe Brosious and sister in law Judi Hubbard.
