Thomas R. "Dick" Rooney

Thomas R. "Dick" Rooney passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Community Medical Center.

Dick was born in Kalispell to Thomas J. Rooney and Milda (Reinertson) Rooney on Sept. 17, 1928. The family moved to Missoula soon after that, where Dick grew up. He attended Central School and graduated from Missoula County High School. He served four years in the U. S. Navy as an aviation electrician. He was honorably discharged in June 1953. Returning to Missoula, he worked at several automotive garages until starting his own business, Rooney's Automotive.

One of his great enjoyments was hunting and fishing in his favorite places. He also enjoyed the time spent in the woods cutting firewood. Bowling also played a big part in his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia (Rooney) Murray; and his wife, Imogene (Bradberry) Rooney.

He is survived by his cousin, Robert Waugh; three stepchildren, Rhonda Trosper, Lisa Hanson (Chris), and David Trosper (Cindy); and numerous grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. At his request no services will be held
