Thomas David Low, son of David and Margaret (Puitill) Low, was born on March 7, 1948 in Colfax, Washington. He was raised in Galt, California, graduated from Mother Lode Academy and received an AA from Delta College. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Tom was united in marriage with Margaret “Peggy” Williams on May 10, 1980 in Livermore, California, three children were born to this union.
Thomas worked as a truck driver for most of his working career, driving a tanker for BP (Arco). Tom and Peggy retired and moved to Montana. He loved the outdoors and spent his free time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed shooting sports and reloading ammo. The couple enjoyed camping together across California and traveled to many National Parks and Monuments. Tom developed a passion for ancestry and tracing his heritage. He was interested in American History with a focus on Native American History. He also owned a large model train set, that prevented Peggy from parking in the garage for many years. Tom was renowned for his subtle sense of humor. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who cherished the time spent with family and friends.
Thomas David Low passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Community Medical Center in Missoula, Montana, he was 74 years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Peggy Low; children, Jon Low; Jen Low; sister, Nora Serpa; brother, Mike Low; in-laws, Beth (Alan) Staggs; Joe (Charlotte) Williams; Eddie Williams; Marion Hanson, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David, Margaret and stepmother, Alpha Low; daughter, Julianna Grace Low in 1992; and brother, John Hanson in 2021.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the Garden City Funeral Home in the Community Room. Burial will take place at Noon, Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery.
