Theresa J. McClure was born to Ila Fassio and Jack J. Willis on April 5, 1941. Theresa worked as a registered nurse, bartender and truck driver. Unfortunately her work stopped early in life after a work related accident. Although she suffered most of her life from chronic pain she never really complained about it, even though one could see it on her face. She married and then remarried LeRoy J. McClure.
Theresa was tough when she needed to be. She was solid and secure. At the age of 70, she physically stopped a home invasion by assaulting the intruder. She was the wrong Grandma to rob! She also had a very kind side. She was very close to her daughter Tonya and they were quite the team.
She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and would often bet 50 cents against them during boxing matches which was one of her favorite hobbies. She seemed to always win. She also loved the Arlee Pow Wow and would save all year so she could play in the Black Jack and Stick Game Tournaments. She also would play poker on occasion. The Pow Wow was always great fun for her. Besides the grandkids, Theresa's greatest love was animals. The loss of her dog Angel was devastating to her.
Theresa was known in the community for selling Christmas Trees at Orange Street Food Farm. If someone couldn't afford a tree she wouldn't send them away empty handed. She loved doing that.
Theresa is survived by her son Kevin Mertins and daughters; Carrie Gloshen, Jackie Shepard and Tonya Skow. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nicholas Von Platz, Justin Micheal Skow , Seth LaRoy Malatare and great-grandchild Hailey Platz.
Mom, you will always be missed and every moment with you was more precious than gold. Your days of suffering are over and you are now probably giving LeRoy a hard time.
Love, your family!
