Thelma Doris Siegford, 91, of Missoula, passed away May 12, 2015, at St. Patrick Hospital after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Cass Lake, Minnesota, to William and Mabel Conner. In her youth, she lived and worked on a dairy farm. She later worked in a bakery.
On Jan. 4, 1946, she married the love of her life, Frank E. Siegford. Right after they married, they moved to Missoula and lived in the same house from February 1946 until Frank's passing in October of 2013.
While raising her four children, she was known as the cookie lady for all the cookies, doughnuts, maple bars and other goodies she had baked for the children of the neighborhood to eat once they were done playing.
She loved to knit, do needlepoint, crochet, work with flowers and try her hand at all kinds of crafts. She totally loved giving away the things she had made.
In her later life, one of her greatest joys was to do things with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sisters, Viola (Canada) and Lois (Missoula); one brother, Ken (Minnesota); her four children, Gary (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), Barbara (Aurora, Colorado), Michael (Plains) and Cindy (Las Vegas, Nevada). She also has 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for her and her husband Frank are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
