Theodore Wolcott was born in Massachusetts on May 11, 1929. As a youngster, he moved with his family to Oregon, where he attended Yamhill Carlton High School. After enlisting in the U.S. Navy for a four-year stint, Ted returned to Oregon, where he married and had three children. He later divorced.
In 1984, he met his lifelong partner, Gail Benson. Gail and Ted moved to Missoula, where he attended the University of Montana for four years. His love was hunting and fishing, and he spent many days looking for trophy mule deer. Several hang on his walls. It has been said that if you could look inside the top of Ted's head, all you would see is little deer and elk running around.
Ted was very proud to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous finding his final bottom and last drink on Sept. 3, 1999. He passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, and was peceded in death by his two sons. He is survived by a daughter, Cindy;and his longtime partnerand friend, Gail Benson.
