Tary E. Ueland

Tary E Ueland was born November 10, 1949, in Terry, MT to Hans and Eileen Nelson Ueland. Tary passed away surrounded by family, from natural causes on April 17, 2025. Tary comes from a very proud Norwegian family who Homesteaded to Eastern MT in the early 1900’s. He grew up during his early years on their ranch before moving to Western MT due to his father’s health. He went to High School in Hot Springs MT playing football, basketball, and track. He was Senior class president, Vice President of the lettermen’s club, Student Counsel representative, and went to the district music festival for choir.

After Graduation he worked installing lighting in Lewis and Clark Caverns and Yellowstone National Park. He worked as a high lineman working out of Great Falls which was a job he was very proud of.

Tary and his first wife Kerry had two daughters, Teri Sue and Tricia Lyn. Tary Married his love Evelyn Cooper Ueland in September 1988. Tary enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, going to Griz games, traveling with his family to the Oregon coast and teaching his family how to make Kumla.

Tary is Preceded in death by his parents Hans and Eileen Nelson Ueland, Grandparents Christian and Bessie Ueland, Grandparents Herman and Nettie Nelson, Brother Arne Ueland, Son Joseph Buxton, Son-in-Law Jason Rahmer, Brother-in-Law Leland Cooper

Tary is Survived by his wife Evelyn Cooper Ueland, sister Jueleen (Stan) Schaffer, brother Chris (Glenda) Ueland, daughter Sue (Rob) Bourne, daughter Tricia (Bob) Simms, son Robert (Jodi) Buxton, daughter Rebecca (Doug) Cole, daughter Amanda Rahmer, Grandchildren Jacey (Brandon) Peterson, Riley Bourne, Anna Halverson, Jessica (Brett) Buxton-Nottley, Riley and Tessa Buxton, Katelynne, Mercedes, Monica, Linelle, John, Matthew, Mary, Mark, Tim, AnnaMaria Wagner, Caleb (Shelby) Buxton, Melicia (Kenneth) Clark, Makiah and Elizabeth Rahmer, Grace and Shae Simms, Dillon Korrie, Great grandchildren Moxie and Tryg Peterson, Jazmyn Nottley, Jason John Matthias and Liberty Buxton and Thorvenn Clark.
