Obituary for Tal' Rian Lee James Blackman

BROWNING – Tal' Rian Lee James Blackman, "Tally Man" aka "Sponge Bob," celebrated five beautiful years until the time of his death. Tal' Rian passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2013, at Community Medical Center in Missoula.

Tal' Rian Lee James Blackman was born May 17, 2007, in Browning to Tamara Blackman. He lived a good life; he was one wonderful little man who touched everyone's heart and had a smile that would brighten anyone's day. There's not one person who didn't love him.

He resided with his grandparents William "Papa Bill" Blackman and Jolene "Gram Beans" Upham on Moccasin Flat, where he grew up. At the time of his passing, he attended K.W. Bergan and was in kindergarten. During the short time of his life, before the good Lord called Tal' Rian home, he enjoyed being with his family, playing his Xbox 360, fishing, hunting, basketball, playing outdoors with his cousins, also his little buddies, and riding his horse he broke, "Gunner." He was very brave and strong; he was the first to ride his horse Gunner.

He had three mommies: his mommy Tam, Mommy Bill, and most of all his "Gram Beans," as he would say, Jolene.

Survivors of Tal' Rian include William "Papa Bill" Blackman Sr.; Jolene "Gram Beans" Upham; his mother, Tamara Blackman; and his brothers, Leonard Mountain Chief, Landon Mountain Chief, Leighton Mountain Chief; his big brothers, William "Lil Bill" (Sharlie) Blackman Jr. and family, Daniel Blackman, Tre'Leigh Connelly; his sisters, Sulee (Justin) DeRoche and girls, Valen (Eric) Juneau and family, Billie Jo Blackman, Marybeth (Kaysen) Blackman and girls, Krystal Blackman and Josie "George" Blackman; great-grandmother, Maizie Upham; Great Auntie Lenore Salois; and numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Tal' Rian was preceded in death by his sister, Hailie Marie Blackman; great-great-grandparent, Mary "Sipi" Blackman; great-grandfather, Joseph Lee Upham; great-uncles, Roger "Dutchie" Upham and Warren Lee Upham; great-auntie, Connie Rae Blackman; and great-great-uncle, Darrell "Chief'" Blackman.

Viewing will begin at the Glacier Community Center in Browning at noon Saturday, April 13. A rosary service will be held at the K.W. Bergan Gym in Browning at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Browning with burial to follow at Willow Creek Cemetery. A reception/feast will follow back at the Glacier Community Center.
