Svea Ann Sage

Svea Ann Sage, 93, died peacefully at her home from natural causes on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Svea was born and raised with five brothers and five sisters to Melvin and Julia Ann Daniels. Surviving family members include one son, Thomas Sage; stepchildren, Dale, Bob and Lisa Sage; grandchildren, Stacy (Nagle) Gow, David Maughan, Jason and Nick Nagle; great- grandchildren, Savannah and Matthew Gow, Benjamin, Amanda, Cody, and Dakota Maughan, Jonathon, Shayden, Kolby, Isaac, Camden, Ellis and Kaija Nagle; brothers, Richard Daniels and Alva (Leah Rae) Daniels; half-brother Pat (Martha) Daniels and half-sister Debbie (Phillip) Cook, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Svea was preceded in death by her son, Steven Sage; sisters, Wilma Sage, Hazel Bridges, Lucy Standley, Thora Murphey and Tillie Legg; brothers, Lon Daniels, Gene Daniels, Carlee Daniels, and half-brother Greg Daniels.

Svea was previously married to Chancey Ruport Sage. She was a machinist during World War II and later worked for the University of Montana for more than 25 years as a telephone operator. She was an avid hunter and outdoorswoman. She was a proud activist for citizen rights and often spoke at city meetings.

All who knew Svea are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Eagles Lodge, 2420 South Ave. W., in Missoula. Cremation has taken place.

Svea's ashes will be scattered at a later date according to her wishes
