Susan Lynn Keith, 66, of Lolo passed away March 16, 2016, at Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT.
She was born on January 25 1950, in Sioux Falls, SD. Susan was the first of Robert and Hallie Keith's four daughters. Following high school graduation and a year of college with a major in Drama, Susan enlisted in the United States Air Force. She served as a medic and photographer for 13 years
.
She enjoyed making objects from wood, working on crafts, photography, embroidery, writing poetry, knock-knock jokes, decorating for the holidays and spoiling her family. She had a fondness for dogs and considered Danny and Muffin, as well as her cockatiel Cricket, as her children. She truly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and gardening. Susan had an uncanny ability to make people laugh and was very generous. She always had space in her heart for the underdog and the less fortunate. Susan also loved hearing about the activities of her nieces and nephews and kept up with the newest one through his You Tube channel.
During her short stay at the Bitterroot Living Center Nursing Home she advocated for others and brought joy to fellow residents. Her enjoyment of adult coloring books inspired a new activity at the Center called Colorama. Even during the worst times of her illness, she would show her sense of humor and bring a smile to those around her.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her three sisters; Kristie (John) Anderson, Mary (Karl) Nagel and Robin Keith; nieces and nephews Teresa Anderson Grimes, Clark Keith, Keith (Leslie) Nagel, Chad Nagel, Kristen Nagel, great niece Hallie Clark and great nephew Logan Nagel.
A funeral service will be held at 10AM Tuesday March 22, 2016, at Lolo Community Church with a reception immediately following the service. Graveside services with full military honors will take place at 1:30PM at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery.
