Obituary for Sue MacKenzie Britton

Missoula-Sue C. Britton passed away on Feb. 13th 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital with her daughter Shari Miller and Sue's significant other, Bob Eder at her side.
She bravely walked through the journey of cancer, now she is at peace.
Sue was born in Gloversville, NY on Sept. 27, 1939 to Frederick G. MacKenzie and Athalia Louise Koch. She married Don Miller in 1961, together they had a daughter, Shari Miller of Missoula. Although they divorced, they remained close friends until his death. She married Donald J. Britton in 1977, he then passed away in 1987.
Sue was a friend of Bill W., a member of Chapter PEO, she was a retired teacher, involved in the Hellgate Park Planning Committee, and she was a member of the Cobblestone Homeowners Association. She was Senior of the Year in 2008, she was on the board of directors at the Mountain Home of Montana. She also assisted with the silent auction of the Festival of the Trees for 8 years. Her hobbies included downhill skiing, hiking, fly fishing, classical and jazz music and reading. She adored her grand dog Maddie Mae.
Sue is survived by her daughter Shari Lynne Miller, Sue's significant other Bob Eder, her step daughter Suzi (Ryne) Stehr and granddaughter Kristine Stehr, her step son Bruce (Marion) Britton and their daughter Quinn.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Don Miller, and her second husband Don Britton.
A celebration of Sue's life and memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20th, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with a reception following in the church fellowship hall.
To remember Sue, take the time to help someone else, be kind to an animal, share joy and grief. Be a fair , thankful and positive friend. Most importantly, strive to touch others lives in the way she touched ours.
She would also ask us not to mourn her death but to celebrate her life. So as we are able, we grasp the vanishing trail of her courage to go on in a world without her.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Montana Mountain Home of Missoula.
