Stanley E Dow

Stanley E. Dow was born September 21, 1939, in Coal City, Ohio, to Joseph and Roberta Dow. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in his Stevensville home.

Stanley attended high school in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and graduated in 1957. He joined the Air Force after graduation and served until 1961.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Jane Rapp, in 1960 in Tuscon, Arizona, where he attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a degree in accounting.

After graduation, Stanley went to work for the Atomic Energy Commission. He retired from the Department of Energy in 1994.

Stan is survived by his wife Pat Dow and their three children: Son, Keith (Cindy Sue) Dow, who was born in Kansas City, Missouri, son, Greg Dow who was born in Naperville, Illinois, and daughter Cindy Jo (Don) McCallum, who was born in Peoria, Illinois, and his two grandchildren, Zachary and Kyle Dow.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph Dow.

After his retirement in 1994 Stan and Pat moved first to Missoula and then to Stevensville.

Stan loved spending time with his family including Pomeranian Koda and Boots the cat. He also loved playing poker both live and on the internet. He loved old Western movies, especially John Wayne. Although Stan was a bit of a tightwad, he was the most generous tightwad you would ever meet.
