Sidney McKay Billingsley was born May 9, 1933, in Alberta, Canada to Sidney LeRoy Billingsley and Vivian Lavern Jensen. He left this Earth May 6, 2024, In Casa Grande, Arizona.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Joy.
After graduating High School in Montana he joined the Air Force for four years. He then joined the work force with his dad doing Heating and Air work. He also worked with his brother, Marlow, for many years in the Plumbing industry. Sidney spent some time living in Alaska where he did Plumbing, Heating and Air as well as Maintenance for the Schools in Dillingham and a Private Pilot for the State of Alaska. He was involved in the Horse Race industry as well.
Sidney loved the great outdoors of Montana and Alaska doing pack trips, fishing, and hunting. He obtained his Pilot's License at a young age and had several small planes. His biggest passion was raising, training, and owning race horses. Later in life he and Joy spent the Montana winters snow birding in Arizona and enjoyed taking trips to the Philippines.
Sidney is preceded in death by his parents and sister Vulloy Billingsley Jones.
Sidney is survived by his brother Marlow Billingsley of Utah.
He is also survived by his children, Stan (Beth) Billingsley of Montana, Darlene (Randy) Triplett of Montana, Scott (Brenda Lanza) Billingsley of Montana, Rob (Patty) Billingsley of Alaska, Michael Billingsley of Montana, and Dallas (Leslie) Livingston of Oklahoma.
Sidney leaves behind grandchildren, Randy, Boe, Tammy, Heather, Bonnie, Kent, Ashley, Cooper, and McKayla. Along with eleven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A viewing will take place on Friday May 17, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. following the viewing. At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6501 Mormon Creek Road, Lolo, MT, 59847.
He will be laid to rest following the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Western Montana State Veteran Cemetery, located at 1911 Tower St. in Missoula.
