Shirley Jean Wolff (Hanson), 81, of Missoula, Montana, died peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2023, of Lymphoma at Edgewood Memory Care in Missoula, Montana.
Shirley was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on March 12, 1942, the daughter of Albert and Mildred Hanson.
While growing up, Shirley attended St. Johns academy in Jamestown ND. When she was not in school she worked as a waitress at “The Valley Drive-Inn” in which her family owned and operated. Many friends were made including LeRoy Wolff whom she later married on June 11, 1965. In 1966 they moved to the tri-cities in which Shirley studied to become a licensed cosmetologist. In 1969, they moved to Missoula, Montana where she became employed at K-mart and continued to work there until she retired after 30 years of service.
Shirley enjoyed going on walks, reading books, shopping, lunch with friends and spending time with her family especially her grandsons.
She is survived by her two children; son Todd (Annette), grandsons Troy and Derek of Frenchtown, Montana, and daughter Tami (Justin), grandsons Riley and Quintin of Canby, Oregon, along with one brother Ron (J) of Colville, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, both parents Albert and Mildred Hanson and a brother Kenneth.
Her kind heart, conversations and unlimited love for those around her will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula, MT. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a reception to follow and be announced.
In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital in honor of mom who always had a big heart and put everyone else before herself.
