Shirley A. Stephens, 76, of Missoula passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at home. A memorial service will be held December 2,2022 at 2PM at Garden City Funeral Home. A reception with finger food will be held after. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at gardencityfh.com.
Shirley, daughter of Foster and Mildred (Hopper) Wise, was born February 13, 1946 in Enterprise, Oregon. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1964. She was united in marriage with Raymond Stephens on April 27, 1980; Raymond passed away June 27, 2007.
Shirley worked as a secretary for a hospital in Oregon for many years. She later was a truck driver and owned her own business in Missoula, Unicorn Uniforms. She lastly worked for the State of Washington. Shirley was talented at crocheting and needle point. She was an avid reader for many years. She was an animal lover, and spoiled all her pets throughout her life. She enjoyed shopping but really cherished the time going to auctions looking for antiques with Ray. She was a proud grandmother and loved spending time with her many grandchildren. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Misty Blodgett; Noel (Linda) Stephens; grandchildren, Marilyn (Dan) Wilson; Darlene (Rojaleo) Stephens; Lavina Martinez; Talia Blodgett; Shalelah Blodgett; Isaac (Alexis) Stephens; Noah Stephens; Emerson Stephens and Madison Stephens; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Martha) Wise; Duane Wise; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Foster Herbert Wise and Mildred Opal Wise; beloved husband, Raymond Stephens; daughter Melanie Weeks; and a grandson, Kenny Blodgett.
