Sharon Gail Nelson, 77, of Missoula, went to meet with Our Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 27, 2015. She passed away of natural causes.
Sharon was born on July 3rd, 1937, to Ozzie and Anne Marie Anderson in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. As an exceptionally intelligent child, she excelled in mathematics in the Calgary public school system, which served her well as a bank employee in Calgary. It was in Calgary where she met the love of her life, Patrick Nelson, who preceded her in death. Patrick and Sharon moved from Calgary to Missoula shortly after the birth of their first son, Darryl. Patrick enjoyed a lucrative career with the Hoerner Waldorf pulp and paper mill out of Frenchtown, Mt. where he ultimately served as a manager of the mill's Instrumentation Department as it progressed to Waldorf Hoerner to Champion International to Stone Container and eventually to Smurfit-Stone. Sharon worked briefly in the Missoula banking system but chose to become a loving and dedicated homemaker after the birth of their 2nd son, Brian.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sharon was a Cub Scout Den Mother and consistently volunteered anywhere her beautiful smile and endless energy could help make a difference. She had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed music, flowers, and life.
After her sons left to start their families, she participated in a bowling league and never, ever missed a chance to play bridge and visit with Joanne and her numerous loving bridge buddies, often several times a week. She had a wonderful, fulfilling life.
A very special heart-felt thank you goes to Gay Warmoth for being such a great friend and neighbor to Sharon and family for over 50 years. Thanks also to neighbors Susan Markey, Bill Fister and family, and all other residents of Arrowhead Drive for all your help and companionship throughout the years. Even tough she lived alone, she was never "alone" thanks to all of you.
Immediate survivors include her two sons, Brian (Frenchtown) and Darryl (Richland, WA); her Daughter-In-Law, Anne-Marie Nelson (Richland, WA); her grandsons Patrick Nelson, his wife Veronica (Bozeman, MT); and Ryan Julian (Richland, WA); her sister Joan and her husband Del of Eagle Bay, British Columbia Canada; her brother Bob Anderson (deceased) and his wife Shirley of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Sharon, you are, and always will be, in our prayers.
