Sharon Joan (Cowley) Griffin was born May 26th,1941 and passed away June 18th, 2024 both at St. Pat’s Hospital in Missoula, MT. The only daughter of Matthias Albert Cowley and Marvel Teresa (Booth) LaCasse both of Cowley, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by both parents and two older brothers, Robert Matthias Cowley and Frank Milton Cowley as well as her daughter April Griffin in 1975 and son Gregg C. Griffin in 2012. Sharon was raised in Missoula where she graduated from Sentinel High School in 1959. She married Ronald Griffin in 1959 and they were blessed with four children. They later divorced. She was most proud of being a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother “GG”. She was so talented and always involved with music in some way. She sang in choirs and participated in many groups. She was a proud member of the “Old Time Fiddlers Association”. She enjoyed playing the piano and was the chorister for her church congregation for many years. She was an active member of the LDS church and participated in many callings throughout her life. She was very active in Family History and enjoyed researching and learning more about her family. In her later years she went to Cosmetology School in Nail Artistry and enjoyed it right up to the month before her passing. She had special friendships with her nail clients and enjoyed keeping up with their lives and families. She was so creative as a life-long learner, always reading and teaching herself new crafts; painting, crocheting, and jewelry making, always sharing those gifts with her family and friends. Sharon is survived by her brother Kenneth Richard Cowley of Missoula, MT, two children Nikki (Gradie) Kerr of Pueblo West, CO, Troy (Dena) Griffin of Stevensville, MT. She adored her 10 Grandchildren, Amanda (Robert) Hanson, Barry (Laura) Griffin, Amber (Kevin) Wellborn, Lyndsey (Russell) Raymond, Charlie (Tim) Stoker, Kelly (Jonathan) Tristao Devine, Travis (Emma) Griffin, Garrett Griffin, Mason Griffin & Alexa Griffin as well as 27 Great Grandchildren. She has left a legacy of love wherever she was and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Missoula LDS Stake Center on 3201 Bancroft St on Saturday, June 29th at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest between her children April and Gregg at the Victor Montana Cemetery. Graveside services will be directly after the funeral and luncheon
