Sarajane Savage passed peacefully from this life Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. She was born Jan. 7, 1927, at her grandparents' home in Fox Home, Minnesota, to Augustine and Isadora (Haskins) Anderson. She grew up and attended school in various towns around Montana. She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1945, then from the Modern Business College in Missoula in 1947 (currently known as The Babs on South Fourth Street).
After business school, she worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Missoula for three years. She was united in marriage to DeLos Savage on Dec. 30, 1948. All four of their children were born in Missoula, where Sarajane was a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. She then worked in accounting for Culbertson's Inc., Delaney's Office Products and Missoula Truck Sales until retirement.
She was active in Credit Women International and Christian Women's Business and Professional Club. She was a member of several churches throughout her life, but returned recently to Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been a member many years ago.
After DeLos became ill and bedridden, Sarajane lovingly provided his care at home for three years until his death in 2001. At the time of his death, they had been married for 52 years and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in 1998.
Sarajane was a strong woman, devout in her Christianity and left an indelible impression on her family and many, many friends. We are forever grateful for her love, support and guidance.
Sarajane was preceded in death by her parents; her only sibling, Kenneth Anderson; and her son-in-law Mike Connor. She is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Teresa Nollmeyer (Don) of Savage and their four children, Dawn Michelle Allerdings (Kendall) and their children Marcail, Makena and Kaden of Dickinson, North Dakota, Matthew Nollmeyer of Billings, Adam Nollmeyer (Lynda) of Phoenix and their children Ethan, Ansel and Isadora, and Mark Nollmeyer of Dickinson; David Savage (Debbie) of Frenchtown; Diane Savage Connor of Missoula and her three children, Tal Connor ( Nicole) and their son Ari of Bellingham, Washington, Mercy Connor of San Francisco and McCoy Connor of Missoula; and son Mark Emerson Savage of Missoula. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends, all of whom were an important part of her life.
Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 830 South Ave, W., at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to a charity of one's choice.
