Sandra was born on October 4, 1940, in Orange, California. She grew up in Redmond, Oregon, where she graduated from Redmond High School in 1958. Shortly after, she married her high school sweetheart, Rod B. Reid, on August 25, 1959. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished family traditions.
In 1973 the family moved to Missoula, MT. Sandra soon was employed by the Missoula County School system as a secretary for Hawthorne Grade School a job that she loved for over 20 years.
Sandra was an avid University of Oregon and University of Montana Grizzlies football fan and rarely missed watching games. She was also a fantastic cook who especially loved preparing holiday meals, bringing her family together around the table with delicious food and warm hospitality.
After raising their family, Sandra and Rod enjoyed their retirement years splitting time between Desert Center, California, and Columbia Falls, Montana. Following Rod’s passing, Sandra moved to Missoula to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rod Reid; her cherished daughter, Brenda Reid; and two grandsons, Derek and Taylor Reid.
Sandra is survived by her loving family, including her sister, Rita (Lonnie) Walker; her sons, Brad (Wendy) Reid and Bruce (Dorothy) Reid; and her grandchildren, Logan (Hunter) Reid, Mackenzie (Alex) Parnell, Kendra (Michael) Rabb, Emily Reid, and Kimberley (Landon) Magnuson. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Sandra will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family. Her passion for cooking, football, and time spent with loved ones will forever be a part of those who knew and loved her.
A family reunion gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Sandra’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
