Obituary for Sandie M. Pearson

Sandie M. Pearson, 67, of Missoula, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

She was born May 14, 1946, in Missoula and attended Bonner public school, as well as Missoula County High School where she was a cheerleader. Later in life, Sandie would fondly reminisce of her old cheering days and often used those skills to cheer on family and friends through life's ups and downs.

Sandie met her husband of 49 years, Larry Pearson, as a beautiful, vibrant woman at the age of 17. They soon wed and not too long after had a beautiful baby girl named Shelly – it could not have been a more perfect fit.

Though Sandie did not have a "job outside the home" title, her "job" as a wife and mother was the most important part of her life. She lived for Larry and Shelly, and made sure their needs were met before her own.

As the seasons changed, the family spent much of their free time enjoying all that Montana has to offer. Sandie had a passion for her garden and her flowers and she could not wait for Mother's Day to come around as it was the unofficial start to the gardening season.

Besides being a loving wife to Larry and devoted mother to Shelly, she was also an incredible grandmother and cherished her grandson Brock.

Sandie always made sure that her family and friends were taken care of. From attending school functions to sporting events, she was always present and proud; no matter the season or the travel, she was in attendance. She took it as a personal challenge to care for and love each and every individual she encountered.

Sandie will be remembered for her laugh and her sense of humor, as well as her good will toward all who were blessed enough to have known her. Her philosophy about life was much like the quote by William E. Gladstone, "Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you won't have to hunt for happiness."

She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert "Bob" Nimocks; and brother-in-law, Len Albrecht.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Pearson of Missoula; daughter, Shelly and son-in-law Glenn Gaertner of Missoula; grandson, Brock and his wife Drew Gaertner of Missoula; sister, Audrey Albrecht of Clinton; brother, Ron (Piper) Nimocks of Bonner; brother, Dick (Debbie) Nimocks of Bonner; along with many other family members she cherished.

A private celebration of her life will be held for family and close friends at The Loft of Missoula, 119 W. Main St., at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27
