LITTLEâ,**ELM, Texas – Ryan David Dibble, 34, of Little Elm, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula after a long battle with cancer and leukemia.
Ryan was born to David Dibble and Bonnie Dibble (now Stewart) on Nov. 7, 1979, in Racine, Wisconsin. As a young man, Ryan excelled at academics and participated in school programs for the gifted and talented from the time he was in preschool through high school. He graduated from Case High School in Racine and went on to attend college at the University of Dallas in Texas. There he met the love of his life, Yuko Matsumoto, and his best friend, Josh Hlavenka. He graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in physics in 2002.
Ryan married Yuko Matsumoto on Nov. 15, 2004, in Akasaka, Japan. They lived and worked in the Dallas Metroplex area for the next 10 years. On Jan. 11, 2011, their beloved daughter Yuna Miko Dibble was born. She became the center of their lives, and loved to have Ryan play hide and seek with her, read her favorite books to her, and listen to her sing songs from her favorite movies.
Ryan collected comic books and loved to play challenging video games. He loved action movies, and always knew all of the characters, actors, and back stories of his favorites. Ryan also loved cats and had several over the course of his life. As a boy, he had Tomasina Battlecat Werewolf, who lived to be 17 years old. Later, he had Ash October and Abby (who now lives with his best friend Josh).
Although Ryan was a big man (6 feet 5 inches tall), he was a kind and gentle soul. All who knew him experienced his kindness, generosity and willingness to give of himself to anyone who asked. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ryan was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Dibble, nicknamed by Ryan "Grandma Radio."
Survivors include his wife Yuko and daughter Yuna; also from Wisconsin, his father David Dibble and stepmother Susan Dibble with siblings Kimberly (Adam) Street, Krystal (Mario) Gonzalez, Daniel (Marissa) Heck, and grandmother Roberta Heck. In Montana, his mother Bonnie Stewart and stepfather Kevin Stewart; brother Michael (Shawn Marie) Aiken and sister Heather (Aaron) Grant and niece Nikki and nephews Noah, Joshua, Josiah, Kevin and Alex.
