Ruth Elaine Anderson, 84, passed away from natural causes Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Hillside Manor. She was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Minneapolis to Waldmar and Sophie Nygren. She grew up in the city alongside her older brothers, Vernon and Ralph, and her baby brother Bruce. Ruth lived and worked in Minneapolis until meeting Albert Anderson, whom she married Feb. 23, 1952. The couple lived in Redwood Falls, Minn., until Albert accepted a job in Missoula in 1958.
Ruth worked as a retail clerk for JGL Distributing and other companies until she retired in 1996. She took great joy in the lives of her family and friends. She never failed to put the needs of her loved ones before her own, and would relay their accomplishments to anyone who would listen. She was a fan of the Montana Grizzlies and her beloved Minnesota Vikings until her passing. Even though she was in great pain toward the end of her life, she rarely complained and never lost her sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Anderson in 1992.
Survivors include her four children, Sharon Hendrickson of Missoula, Duane Anderson of Sheridan, Wyo., Susan Anderson of Rapid City, S.D., and Mark Anderson of DeForest, Wis.; along with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." – Revelation 21:4.
Her loved ones miss her greatly, but take comfort in the fact that her suffering is over, and she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior.
Memorial services will be held this summer for her family and loved ones. Burial will follow at Missoula City Cemetery
