Russell Eugene Svingen

Russell Eugene Svingen, 54, of Missoula, passed away on October 6th, 2014 at his home of natural
causes.
Russ was born on May 25th, 1960 in Eugene Oregon to Russell Sr. & Arlene Svingen, Wonderful parents, picked by God. Russ's childhood was filled with adventures on the farm, hunting birds, fishing and inviting all of his friends over for mischief. After High school Russ moved to Missoula, MT to live with his uncle and aunt, Andy & Loretta Stenberg, to test his wings of freedom. He was soon finishing concrete and realized that he was a master of the art of concrete.
On February 14, 1983, he married Lisa Marie Bond. They were blessed with three wonderful children.
Russ loved his children with his whole heart and taught his children his values of hard work, honesty and
most of all, love — and to be a true Norwegian.
In the year of 1993 Russ started his own business, Valley Concrete Inc. Through the years Russ created
a legacy of being the BEST concrete finishing company in Missoula and the surrounding areas.
Russ's favorite pastimes were hunting, camping, fishing, and being around his favorite grandson, Brody Jay Sept. That's Papa's boy!
Russell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Arnold and Alice Stenberg and his paternal grandparents; Peder and Lauretta Svingen.
Survivors include his wife; Lisa Marie of Missoula, two sons; Bryce Alan & Zachary E. Svingen of Missoula, his beautiful Daughter; Chrystal Michelle Sept (Jake) of Lolo, grandson Brody Sept, his parents; Russell E. & Arlene Mae Svingen, Mark (Tracie) Svingen, his sister; Debbie Svingen of Eugene, OR and his Nieces; Kelsy Harshbarger, Mollie Svingen, Emilie Svingen, Sam Svingen of Eugene, OR and many other family members too numerous to mention.
Russ, in the arms of Jesus we let you go. Standing on our faith that we will see you again in Heaven-Praise GOD.
A memorial service will be held on Mon. Oct. 13th at Christian Life Center at 12 noon, located at 3801 S. Russell St. Missoula, MT 59801. Garden City Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
