Roger Elgin Staley, 62 of Hamilton passsed away peacefully Tuesday, March
12,
2013 at St. Patrick's Hospital.
He was born on November 18, 1950 to C.E. and Jane Staley in Tacoma, WA who
preceeded him in death along with his sister Christine Schmidt. As a young
man, Roger enjoyed playing recreational baseball and football. These
hobbies
carried on through his life as he coached his daughters through little
league.
On May 2, 1975 he married his wife and best friend of 38 years. He followed
his dream and in 1989 moved his family to Hamilton, MT. There he continued
to
pursue his love of hunting, fishing, camping and various other outdoor
activities. Roger was a hard-working, kind, selfless man who put the needs
of
his family before his own. His fun loving sense of humor will be fondly
remembered by his 4 grandchildren that were the light and center of his
world.
Survivors include his wife Deb of Hamilton, devoted daughters Stephanie
Stratton (Chris) and their three children Cody, Andrew and Victoria of
Missoula, Lindsey Lake and son Carter also of Hamilton. Brother Steve
Staley
and his wife Mary Jo of Anaconda, MT and sisters Karla Hillberg and Kim
Schmidt of Edgewood, WA. Roger was blessed with countless other family
members including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law. In lieu
of
flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name at American
Federal
Savings Bank, Hamilton for the grandchildren he so dearly loved. A
celebration of life will be held at a later date in Washington state near
his
birthplace.
