Robert J. "Smitty" "Bob" Smith, 90, of Missoula, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital.
He was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Ernest Dick Smith and Louise Susan Dries. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1940 to 1945.
Bob was married five times and stayed friends with all of his wives. He was a truck driver until his retirement in 1989.
Bob was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles FOE No. 32 for 38 years. He was a kind, caring, happy soul. He lit up every room he entered and touched the hearts of many. He lived by the philosophy, "If you like people, people will like you."
Bob was "the" biggest Denver Broncos fan.
Survivors include 17 children, 26 grandkids, 38 great-grandchildren and his girlfriend.
Viewing will be 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Cremation & Burial Society of the Rockies. No services will be held. A memorial will take place in the summer of 2015.
