On Wednesday December 20th, 2023 Robert Steven Kavicky passed away peacefully at his East Missoula home. Robert was born in Chicago, IL and raised with his four brothers in Berwyn, IL. Robert graduated from Morton East High School Class of 1967 where he excelled in track and field. He was drafted into the Army and served in Germany from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam War. A lifelong learner, Robert graduated with associates degrees in architecture, art, and CAD drawing. He was deeply religious and raised his three children in the Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Riverside, IL with their Slovak heritage.
Robert was a charismatic yarn spinner, who loved to chat it up with family and strangers alike. He was a man of many hobbies; a true Renaissance man. Robert was an avid photographer and was commonly seen around town with a camera around his neck. He was a painter and sketched amazing self portraits. He was known to tip his servers with two dollar bills and coins made in their birth year. His kids will miss playing military board games, hiking in the woods, stargazing and epic conversations with him. His grandkids will miss the birthday phone calls with harmonica tunes played in their honor. He will be forever in our hearts, Papa Paparazzi. Sleep tight tonight; your Air Force is awake.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth (nee Minarcin) Kavicky. He is survived by his brothers John Kavicky, Thomas (Susan) Kavicky, William (Cheryl) Kavicky, James (Jill) Kavicky; former spouse Nora J. Ayres; children Kelly (Robert) Hetzler, Daniel (Amy) Kavicky, Alexandra (Brian) Myers; grandchildren Travis (Rabecka) Kirkland, Elizabeth Hetzler, Kierah Kavicky, Olivia Kavicky, Wolf Myers, Nora Myers; great grandchildren Emmet Underwood, Julia Kirkland, and Jacob Kirkland.
