Robert (Bob) Alan Boller, son of Earl and Christine (Colohan) Boller, was born April 28, 1941 in Zurich, Kansas, and passed away at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, Montana on May 22, 2015 at the age of 74.
Bob grew up in Natoma, Kansas, graduated from the Natoma High School, and from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in math. He married Diana K. Finch in October 1962 in Plainville, Kansas. In 1966 Bob and the family then commenced a series of overseas residences encompassing Panama, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Venezuela where Bob worked as a Cartographer and Geodesist for IAGS. Returning to the United States in August 1979, they settled in Missoula, Montana. Their marriage later ended. He continued his employment with the Federal Government working as a Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Supervisory Cartographer (Photogrammetrist). He met Audrey (Fischer) Ketterling through his employment with the U.S. Forest Service and they married on May 23, 1981. Bob retired in 1990 and later volunteered at Messiah Lutheran Church where he was a trustee and did all types of maintenance.
He enjoyed river rafting with family and friends and competing in raft races. Many hobbies and interests also included woodworking, garage saleing, fixing, repairing, and helping others make old things new. He and Audrey loved spending time with family, friends and enjoying the great Montana outdoors.
Survivors include: his wife, Audrey Boller, Missoula; five children, Shawn and wife, Deanna Boller, Russell, Kansas; Dawn Boller, Hollywood, Florida; Dan and wife, Lisa Boller, Pompano Beach, Florida; Christina and husband, Leon Huxman, Russell, Kansas; Cristopher Boller, Frenchtown, Montana; two brothers and their wives, Max and Phyllis Boller, Asheville, North Carolina; Gail and Cindy Boller, Norton, Kansas; one sister and her husband, Judy and Paul Hachmeister, Natoma, Kansas; one sister-in-law, Marlayne Boller, Norton, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Ernie Fischer, Richey, Montana; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; many other relatives; and countless friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Clyde; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Fischer.
