He was born to Wilmer and Sharon Bewley in La Junta, Colorado on September 24, 1964 and grew up in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rob graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale. Arizona in 1983. He was a good athlete and played both football and baseball throughout school. Rob was an accomplished guitar and bass guitar player. He learned to play at a young age and played in a number of rock bands in the Phoenix area. Music was his true calling, and he was a very talented musician. His nephews were always impressed when Uncle Rob could play a new song after listening to it just a couple of times.

Rob was also passionate about building beautiful electric guitars. He would spend many hours perfecting them. He would sell some, but gave most as gifts to his friends and family members who enjoyed playing. Rob's love for his family and friends was very apparent. He especially loved going back to visit and spend time at his Uncle Ronnie & Aunt Linda Hoffman's farm in Colorado.
