MISSOULA – Rita Kaye Sullivan Reno went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Missoula. She was born in Billings on April 23, 1953, to Oliver and Helen Sullivan. She attended Billings Senior High, where she enjoyed being in plays and musicals. After graduating in 1970, she attended Eastern Montana College for a year. In 1972, she married Jay Reno and they had two sons, Walter and Jason. Later, she lived in Hamilton and Missoula.
Rita loved to crochet, read and collect cookbooks. She also enjoyed volunteer work, and she helped at a thrift store in Hamilton, folded music and bulletins at her church in Missoula, and volunteered at Missoula's Riverhouse, where she cooked, served food and taught people how to crochet.
Rita was very kind to others and had a big heart. Her smile and hearty laugh brightened many a room. She was also a devout Christian and was active in her church prayer group in Missoula.
Survivors include sons, Walter Reno (Linea) and Jason Reno; and grandsons, Corwin and Gerard Reno; sisters, Jere Duncan and Sharmon Brougham (Marty); and brother Lyno Sullivan (Julie), as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and their children.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2940 Poly Drive, in Billings.
The family would like to thank Rita's closest friends, Juanita and Don Steiner, and the Western Montana Mental Health Center.
