Obituary for Richard W. "Buz" Tyacke

Richard William "Buz" Tyacke, 68, received his angel wings and took his final flight to heaven Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. Buz was a happy, gentle giant and will be greatly missed. Buz will be remembered for his courage, sense of humor, being a loving husband, father and a loyal friend. His memory will also be carried on with his "MacGyver" duct tape know-how, a good game of cribbage, his love of Dodge pickup trucks and a mean batch of Chex party mix.

Born July 29, 1946, in Sunnyside, Washington, Buz had a happy childhood growing up and working on his grandparents orchard. When he was 14 years old, his mother Althea remarried George Hyde and the family moved to the Hyde Creek Ranch in Salmon, Idaho. There he attended Salmon High School and graduated in 1964. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1967. Upon returning to Salmon, he married his high school sweetheart, Lynne Tyacke. The following year the couple announced the birth of the "Tyacke Twins," Judi and Jerry. Buz and his family eventually moved to Missoula, where he attended the University of Montana and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management. During his college career, he studied land management and animal husbandry to assist with the family's ranch. One of Buz's many accomplishments and greatest love was time and hard work spent at the Hyde Creek Ranch.

Buz is survived in death by his wife, Lynne Tyacke; his twin children, Jerald L. 'Jerry" Tyacke and Judith L. "Judi" Tyacke, John Rawlings (son-in-law) and grandson Cliff Rawlings; his brother, Mike Tyacke of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sister, Starlena Sharpe of Sacramento, California; his step-mom, Josie Tyacke Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; stepsisters, Molly Tyacke of Coeur d'Alene, and Anna Tyacke of Chubbuck, Idaho; stepbrother, Eddie Tyacke of Coeur d'Alene; and numerous nieces, nephews and their extended families. Much love to them all.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Althea O' Farrell Hyde; stepfather, George Hyde; his father, Edward Joseph Tyacke; beloved grandmother, "Babe" O'Farrell; and his stepsister, Mary Tyacke.

A full honorary military service and memorial celebration will held this spring with dates to be announced. The family would like to thank all of our friends, family including the staff and volunteers with Partners of Missoula Hospice. We have many angels who provided enormous support during the final journey. Love You Dad
