In Loving Memory of Richard Joseph “Dick” Roullier
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Richard Joseph “Dick” Roullier, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Dick peacefully departed this world on June 27, 2024, at his residence in Missoula Montana, at the age of 84, surrounded by his family.
Dick was born on August 5, 1939, in Missoula, Montana and raised in Anaconda Montana. He was the loving son of William Roullier and Marie (Bouffard) Roullier. He attended elementary school at St. Peter’s in Anaconda and high school at Loyola Sacred Heart in Missoula and graduated from Anaconda Central High School in 1957.
He joined the Air Force shortly after graduation where he was stationed in Japan until his military discharge in 1960. While in the Air Force he worked in the Electrical Accounting Machines and Computer field. Those skills carried over to his 34-year career as a computer operator, programmer, and system analyst with the Forest Service, all in the Regional Office in Missoula.
In May of 1962 he married Middy Creaney, settling in Missoula and raising their three children: oldest Mark, followed by twins Suzanne and Scott.
In August 1994 Dick decided it was time to concentrate on his golf game, so he retired. When he could not be found on the golf course he was fishing at his brother’s place on Flathead Lake. He enjoyed spending a week a year pheasant hunting with his three brothers. There was always a lot of preparation for these special weeks and a lot of stories upon their return.
Dick was also an avid Griz football fan. He enjoyed the tailgating as much as the games. He also enjoyed watching his grandson play in the NFL. And he was a spectator at many Saturday bowling outings watching his great-granddaughters bowl.
Dick will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his adoring family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Middy, his brothers Bill and Gene, and his sister Annette.
He leaves behind his three children: his daughter Suzanne Rodrigue (Peter) of Augusta Maine, his sons Scott (Theresa) of Missoula and Mark (DeeAnn) of Savage Minnesota, his brother Bob (Tracy) of Polson. Additional survivors include 5 grandchildren: Tiffany (Branden), Todd, Brienne (Josh), Chase (Sarah) and Jack as well as 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In honoring Dick’s wishes, a private cremation and memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00am.
