Obituary for Ralph Christ

ALBERTON – Ralph Christ was released from this world on November 23, 2012 after more than 4 years in care at the Village Health Care after having suffered several strokes.
Ralph was born to Charles and Zelma Christ in Great Falls Montana on September 23, 1927. He grew up in Great Falls and graduated there from high school in 1945 before serving 3 years in the Navy as a radio operator.
Ralph worked as a railroad telegrapher for over 30 years. He met Sylva Brasch in Haugen where she was also a telegrapher and they were wed in 1952. Her dowry included three young children and they initially settled in Deer Lodge where two boys were added to their family. In 1955 they relocated to Alberton where their daughter completed their family and they have resided since. May 21, 2012 marked their 60th wedding anniversary.
His numerous hobbies included locksmithing, collecting coins, locks, keys, safes, watches, clocks, radios, photos and railroad memorabilia. He was thrilled with each negation and trade. In his later years he enjoyed spending winters in Arizona meeting people and discovering more treasures to bring home to his basement in Alberton. Family and friends were ever present in his thoughts and activities. An annual family vacation was always a priority for him, often spent with other relatives, camping or exploring the northwest.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Zelma and 2 infant siblings James and Helen. He is survived by his wife Sylva, sons Neal (Barb) Misenar, Colin (Sandy) Misenar, Charlie Christ, Fred (Ruth) Christ and daughters Pamela Misenar and Elizabeth Christ. His brother Arthur Christ, sister Lois (Wendall) Harness, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren as well as a very large extended family also survive. We will all miss him dearly.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula. A service will be held in the spring to celebrate Ralph's life, including a gathering of family and friends. Condolences can be sent to the Christ Family at P.O. Box 265 Alberton, MT 59820.
