Phyllis Janeth Weed McQuade

Phyllis Janeth Weed McQuade, 91, of Missoula, MT passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Rosetta Assisted Living of natural causes.
Born in Troy, NY, on November 27, 1924, she was the daughter of Donald E. Weed and Margaret Simmons. Phyllis grew up in Latham, NY and was a 1941 graduate of Watervliet High School. After High School, Phyllis attended Mildred Elley School in Albany, NY, after which she became the office manager of her father's Real Estate business.
Phyllis married Bertrand M. McQuade on June 21, 1947 at her parents' home in Latham, NY.
After a number of years, they relocated and raised their family in Westfield, NJ where she continued to work as an Executive Secretary for Westfield Public Schools until her retirement. After the passing of her husband on June 11, 1993, Phyllis moved to Mount Dora, Fl. and resided there until 2001, when she chose to move to Missoula to be closer to family.
Phyllis enjoyed singing and was a member of many chorus' and church choirs. She was an avid knitter and spent her later years knitting baby blankets for her church and the Mountain Home in Missoula. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved living in Montana.
Survivors include her daughter Melanie (Norman) Moeller, Missoula; and two sons, Donald Michael (Jennifer) McQuade, Fishers, IN; Reverend Dr.Timothy McKenty (Becky) McQuade, Loveland, OH, along with 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Phyllis received from Rosetta Assisted Living staff and Hospice of Missoula.
Interment of Ashes will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, New Jersey.
