Obituary for Phyllis A. Dandrea

On January 3, 2013, Heavens family received one of its children, Phyllis Ann Dandrea with open arms. She left in time to celebrate her son "Rocky's" 62nd birthday in the presence of Jesus. She was surrounded by her four loving daughters. Phyllis was born the 8th of 12 children to Thomas and Florence Toner in Graceville, MN on March 27, 1932. She was drawn to Missoula by her sister Marge, where she joined the class of 1950 at Missoula County High School. There she met and later married our dad Philip M. Dandrea and our family began; Rocky, Marcy, Kate, Jan and Lisa.
Mom held many jobs through out the years starting with the Montana Highway Patrol – Driver License Section for 9 years; she then pursued a career with the U.S. Marshall Service where she developed a passion for law enforcement and everything it stands for. She worked there for 14 years. Her last position was serving as a loyal, dedicated and beautiful bartender of the VFW club in Missoula.
Phyllis enjoyed an active life of bowling, softball, and swimming. As an avid bowler she bowled in local, state and national competitions, always showing gracious sportsmanship and good team spirit. Whenever the Elbow Room Bowling Team competed they drew many spectators to cheer and follow their place standings. Mom was also an excellent swimmer, teaching each of her children to be as well. Blue Bay on Flathead Lake was moms second home, spending her vacations and most of the summers there camped out with her children. She taught us to appreciate the beauty and calmness of the lake which made very fun memories.
Preceding her in death was the love of her life Philip M. Dandrea and her son Philip (Rocky) Dandrea, Jr. Also greeting her at Heavens gates were her parents Thomas and Florence; Brothers Thomas, Delbert and William Toner; Sisters Marjorie Dobak, Marcella Mailer, and Florence Lieffort. Mom is survived by her four daughters; Marcy (Don) Juel, Kate (Tom) Senrud, Jan (David) Overbaugh, and Lisa (Dan) Ducharme. Phyllis will also be remembered and loved by her 7 grandchildren Philip and Eric Senrud; Carly Dandrea, Justin and Jessica Juel, Jasmin Overbaugh and Laura Ducharme along with great grandson Philip Juel. Her brothers Richard, Kenneth and Dennis Toner. Sisters Judy Gray, Kathy (Kate) Hanson and several nieces and nephews.
Mom we want to say thank you for your Beauty, your Integrity, your Love and all your Irish Blessings. Give Dad and Rocky a hug for us, we miss you all. Love, your girls.
