Pearl Theresa "Peggy" Coverdell

FLORENCE – Pearl Theresa "Peggy" Coverdell, 90, of Seeley Lake passed away of natural causes on Friday, March 15, 2013.

She was born March 5, 1923, in Ladysmith, Wis., to Arthur and Theresa Shellhouse.

She met her husband of 61 years in 1943 while he was serving in the Air Force.

Peggy moved to Montana with her husband in 1947 to the Kalispell area working on a farm. She then moved with her husband and two children to the Swan Valley. In 1973, she moved with her family to the Seeley Lake area where she happily lived until passing.

Peggy enjoyed gardening and cooking, fresh caught fish being one of her favorites. She always took joy in a drive around Seeley Lake, which she and her husband did almost daily until his passing. Peggy was known for her kind spirit and gentle heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood V. Coverdell, in 2004, and daughter Catherine Coverdell in 2012, as well as brothers, Marvin Shellhouse and Bob Young and sister, Millie Hansen.

She is survived by her son, Jack Coverdell (Camille) of Westwood, Calif., and grandchildren, Christy Hughes (Rob) of Helena, Jack Hamilton of Florence, Mike Hamilton of Alaska, Rosey Bertoluzza (Dino) of Chester, Calif., and Beth Welton of Las Vegas, Nev. She also has four great-grandchildren, Marcus, Trenton and Kylee of Helena and Dylan of Las Vegas; she has two surviving sisters, Helen Shroyer and Twyla Cryder.

The family has chosen to have a memorial for family and friends during the summer months in Seeley Lake to celebrate her 90 years of life. This will be announced at a later date.
